Scott Moe Wraps Successful Trade Mission to India
A highly successful trade mission to India by Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe concluded on March 6, 2026. As part of the mission, Saskatchewan secured a massive deal worth $2.6 billion between Cameco Corporation and India’s Department of Atomic Energy. As part of the deal, Saskatchewan has entered into various partnerships that will focus on food and energy security. Some of the partnerships include research into carbon capture, rare earth elements, and nuclear reactor technology. Additionally, the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Polytechnic have entered into various agreements with Indian institutions to collaborate in the area of agri-food innovation and post-secondary education. Since 2007, Saskatchewan has been able to export over $18 billion in goods to India. This is in addition to the province being a main source of resources that India needs to power its economy.
